These Espresso Bombs are easy to make and gives you the energy boost you need for the day in one chocolatey shell filled with espresso!

    How to Make Espresso Bombs

You all loved my coffee bombs so much that I thought I would show you how to make an espresso bomb. Sometimes we need that extra jolt for the day especially on Mondays and this does the trick.

    Espresso Bombs

They are also great to make up ahead of time and storing in an airtight container when you’re in a pinch. I like to make a caffe latte with them by dropping the espresso bomb in a cup, pouring hot milk over top and frothing some hot milk to top it off but you can also enjoy them with hot water.

    What are Espresso Bombs?

A chocolate hollow shell filled with instant espresso for a rich mocha flavor when dropped in steamed milk or a shot of espresso with hot water.

    Espresso Bomb Tips & Variations

    • For an extra shot of espresso, mix instant espresso with melted chocolate for a chocolate espresso shell.
    • Can add an extra layer of melted chocolate once first layer is harden to prevent the chocolate shell from breaking.
    • Don’t overcook the chocolate. Melt in microwave for 30 seconds at a time stirring in between until creamy and smooth.
    • Smooth out any air bubbles in chocolate after placing it in silicone mold using the back of a spoon.
    • Make sure the chocolate has set before building.
    • Wear food safe gloves to avoid fingerprints.
    • To store, keep them in an airtight container in a cool area or fridge to avoid melting.

    Ingredients

    Light Cocoa candy melts, melted
    Packet of Instant Espresso
    Chocolate shavings, optional

    Will Also Need

    Medium Semi-sphere silicone mold
    Bowl
    Spoon
    Hot Water or Milk
    Cup

    How to Make Espresso Bombs

Add chocolate wafers to a microwave-safe bowl and melt in microwave in 30 second increments stirring in between until creamy and smooth.

Fill the silicone molds with melted chocolate making sure to only fill the sides of the mold all the way to the top and keeping the inside hollow. Use the back of a spoon to guide the chocolate up the mold keeping it thick and filling any gaps.

Place in fridge or freezer for about 10-15 minutes or until they are easy to pop out. Very carefully remove the chocolate from the mold. If they don’t pop out easily, place back in freezer for a few more minutes.

Using one chocolate half, add instant espresso packet.

Heat a plate in the microwave for about 15 seconds, carefully taking it out cause the plate will be hot. Take the other chocolate half and smooth and press the open part onto the hot plate for a few seconds to melt the chocolate and twist a bit to smooth the edges. Connect the two half pieces of chocolates together and seal together.

Decorate by drizzling melted chocolate over top with chocolate shavings and allow to dry.

How to Use an Espresso Bomb

Place the espresso bomb in the bottom of your cup and pour 6 oz. of hot water or milk over top and watch it melt and explode before your eyes. Stir and enjoy!

If you want to make a caffe latte pour 4 oz of hot milk over top of espresso bomb and stir. Froth 2 oz of hot milk in a milk frother and place on top. Enjoy!
