Local website great resource for deals
(Published on 1/4/13)
Is your New Year’s Resolution to save money? Who doesn’t love to save time and money when shopping? That’s exactly what a new local website I discovered promises. Founded in October by a Delaware mother of three, Short Cut Saver is a fantastic resource and truly is a one-stop shop to find out what’s on sale at local stores as well as finding coupons and much more.
Alison McFadden has learned how to save at least 60 to 70 percent at the grocery store and, in response to many of her friends and family asking her how she does it, Short Cut Saver was born.
“I do it to help teach others how to save,” McFadden said. “It kills me to see people pay full price when they could save at least half. They may not know how to do it and I would love to show them how. It does take time and patience.”
Her motto is “Because I Like My Money,” and she has saved thousands of dollars which helps her take her family on amazing vacations and pay for extra expenses. On her site, McFadden posts daily outlining area deals and sales. She also gives you links to coupons. One section even highlights where you can find deals for free or at least one dollar or under. McFadden is interested in expanding the site to include information about local sales at independently-owned stores around Delaware County.
“I can add a link to click on my sidebar or make a post (about local sales). I would love to get the whole Delaware community involved on my site to help everyone save locally,” she said.
You can follow Short Cut Saver on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. She has an Android app as well. To contact her directly, email her at shortcutsaver@gmail.com or visit shortcutsaver.com.
I plan to visit the site as often as I can to check in on the deals to be found. Thanks, Alison, for all the hard work and research and helping us save!
