Hearty Slow Cooker Chili

Ingredients

  • 2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 (14.5oz.) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (14.5oz.) can rotel tomatoes
  • 1 (8oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 5 tbsp chili powder
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 (15oz.) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ cup beef broth

Instructions

  • Brown ground meat, green pepper and diced onion together in a skillet over medium heat until meat is cooked through.
  • Drain excess fat and place in slow cooker.
  • Pour beef broth over top, add spices and sugar.
  • Top with canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste and cook on high for 4-6 hours or on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Stir at the halfway point of cooking.
  • Serve and garnish as desired.
