Loaded Italian Sausages

These Loaded Italian Sausages are the perfect low carb meal topped with bell peppers, onions, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese for a mouthwatering taste!

Ingredients

  • 5 Italian sausages mild, sweet, hot or whatever you prefer
  • 6 oz. Mozzarella cheese
  • 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ stick butter
  • 8 oz. sliced mushrooms
  • ½ of each bell pepper sliced (green, red, orange, yellow)
  • ½ large onion
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat up a flat top grill to 300 degrees. Lightly oil the flat top grill and sauté the mushrooms, bell peppers and onions with butter, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
  • Butterfly the Italian sausages. Place the Italian sausages on the flat top grill and cook until no longer pink on both sides flipping halfway.
  • Once cooked, line up the Italian sausages and place the sautéd mushrooms, bell peppers and onions on top of them and top with mozzarella cheese. Place a cover over top or shut the grill till the cheese is melted.
  • Remove from grill and eat as is or put on a low carb bun. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Can substitute Italian sausages for brats or kielbasa.
  • Prepare this dish ahead of time by chopping up all the vegetables the night before and store in the fridge.
  • If you don't have a flat top grill you can cook in a skillet.
