Mug Cake Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg yolk only
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- ¼ cup flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon sprinkles + extra for garnish

- 2 tablespoons butter room temperature
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1-2 teaspoons milk
- ⅓ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
How to Make Funfetti Mug Cake in the Microwave
Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the bottom of a microwave safe mug and melt in microwave.
Add milk, vanilla extract, egg yolk and sugar to mug with melted butter. Use a fork to whisk ingredients until incorporated. Add flour, baking powder and pinch of salt to the mug. Whisk again to combine. Stir sprinkles into the mixture.
Microwave for 90 seconds on 70% or medium-high power. Allow to cool while preparing frosting.
How to Make Mug Cake Frosting
To prepare frosting, use a fork or an electric mixer to beat butter and powdered sugar in a bowl until creamy. Add in milk, vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Beat again until combined.
Add additional milk if necessary until desired consistency is reached.
Spread or pipe frosting onto cooled mug cake. Add additional sprinkles if desired and enjoy!
