The War with Grandpa Movie Review
“A Comedy for the Whole Family!”

Today is the day that The War with Grandpa is playing in theaters everywhere. This is the movie we need right now to uplift our spirits and make us laugh. It’s a great family comedy for all to see. A few weeks ago I got a chance to interview Laura Marano, Oakes Fegley, Cheech Marin, Jane Seymour and the Peart family about the film. We had a blast talking with them and so excited the Tre Peart brought the book to the big screen. Before the interview we had a chance to watch the movie and here are my thought about the film.

The War with Grandpa Movie

Prank Wars

I have to admit these prank wars between Peter (Oakes Fegley) and Ed (Robert De Niro) were pretty good and gave me some good ideas in case I ever needed to prank someone. The pranks are PG rated so there’s no need to worry about what the kids might see.

The Epic Trio

The fact that they got this trio of Robert De Niro, Cheech Marin, Christopher Walken in this film is pretty epic and another reason to see this film. Seeing both De Niro and Walken duo again was like a Deer Hunter reunion. I mean it’s been 42 years since they’ve last worked together which is crazy to think about. And then you add Cheech Marin in the mix and it becomes epic. These three did not disappoint in the film and really brought out the laughter especially in the Skyzone Trampoline park. I’m not going to spoil it but you will be laughing.

Family Connection

There are several family connections in this film from teenagers and parents to grandparents and kids. After seeing the film it had me reminiscing about the times I had with both of my grandpas and the fun things we used to do. It also had me thinking of my relationship with my teenage kids and that special bond between us. It really had you thinking and will leave you with some sort of connection.

Overall Thoughts

The War with Grandpa movie is a must see for the whole family. I’ve seriously have not laughed out loud like that in a long time. From the pranks to the humor, it’s a family-friendly movie for any age to see. This movie also brought back some memories of my grandpas and the jokes we used to play on each other. Overall I think everyone will get some sort of feel from this movie aside the laughs and really enjoy it. Go see it in theaters with the whole family on October 9th!

About The War with Grandpa Movie

Sixth-grader Peter (Oakes Fegley) is pretty much your average kid-he likes gaming, hanging with his friends and his beloved pair of Air Jordans. But when his recently widowed grandfather Ed (Robert De Niro) moves in with Peter’s family, the boy is forced to give up his most prized possession of all, his bedroom. Unwilling to let such an injustice stand, Peter devises a series of increasingly elaborate pranks to drive out the interloper, but Grandpa Ed won’t go without a fight. Soon, the friendly combatants are engaged in an all-out war with side-splitting consequences.

Based on the award-winning book by Robert Kimmel Smith, The War with Grandpa is a hilarious family comedy featuring an all-star supporting cast: Christopher Walken, Uma Thurman, Rob Riggle, Cheech Marin, Laura Marano and Jane Seymour.
