Christmas came early as Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms hits theaters today. Although you may think that this movie is about the classic Christmas tale but that is not what it is about. It is actually based on the E.T.A. Hoffman’s tale of The Nutcracker and The Mouse King so be prepared for the unexpected along with some twists and mystery when watching the film.
A few days ago while I was in LA I got the chance to screen the movie at the El Captain Theater before it came out. Below are my thoughts on the film and reasons why you should see it in theaters everywhere.
The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is colorful, beautiful and magical. – @evrydayshortcut
Reasons Why You Should See The Nutcracker and the Four Realms
The Four Realms
The four realms are different lands to visit such as candy, snowflake, flowers and the mysterious one.
If I had to pick a favorite I would say that candy was mine because I love the different colors and well it’s candy of course.
#DisneysNutcracker is the perfect way to start the holiday season! The film is so magical and such a fun adventure for the whole family! – @moviemarshall
Costumes
The costumes were beyond amazing in the film from layers of ruffles to every little detail down to the stitching. I loved the dresses that Sugar Plum and Clara had on especially the dress that had lights on it along with the Nutcracker costumes.
I loved @thenutcracker. It’s a new, whimsical holiday classic for the family! And @mistyonpointe isn’t to be missed if you love ballet!! – @whiskyandsunshine
Scenery
There is gorgeous scenery to look at throughout the film. My favorite scenery to look at is when the snow is falling. It was so pretty to look at and the colors really popped in those scenes.
Ballerina Misty Copeland @Mistyonpointe is exquisite in Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. She’s the real deal. I could watch her dance forever. – @mamalatina
Inspiring for Ballerinas
The talented Misty Copeland plays the ballerina in the film and does an amazing job. Though she has no actual speaking parts, her dancing tells the story. Her dancing will inspire ballerinas from all over the world to keep dancing and show self-confidence.

Sugar Plum Fairy
Keira Knightley stole the show with her cotton candy hair, baby voice, and witty remarks. She is delightful and will make you laugh.
Take the entire family to see Nutcracker and the Four Realms in theaters on November 2nd!
About the Movie
All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants is a key – a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer’s (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key—which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It’s there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve Clara’s key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world. Starring Keira Knightley as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Disney’s new holiday feature film “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” is directed by Lasse Hallström and Joe Johnston, and inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic tale.
THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS opens in theatres everywhere on November 2nd!
