The Good Dinosaur is now playing in theaters everywhere and a movie the whole family can enjoy over Thanksgiving break. I had a chance to screen the movie Monday night and found that it was a heartwarming movie. The movie is filled with laughter, friendship, and a little bit of sadness. Pixar really nailed it by getting the details in the film to look realistic at times.
The moral of the story is about facing your fears, building a friendship, and learning to let go. There were a few scary parts that even made me jump but my son and I laughed at that. Arlo (The Good Dinosaur) and Spot (The Kid in the Wilderness) are the main characters of the movie and hilarious together.
I would not recommend this film for really young kids under 6 as there are a few scary scenes and a passing of one of the characters. I would recommend bringing tissues as this film is a tear jerker and I cried a few times myself.
Keep the kids busy with some free printable activities from The Good Dinosaur movies. The activity pack includes connect the dots, coloring pages, memory cards, and more.
“The Good Dinosaur” asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo (voice of Raymond Ochoa) makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.
