It’s a sequel! And you’re invited. The Addams Family is back for more macabre mischief in 2021 with “The Addams Family 2” now playing in theaters and On Demand!
A few days ago I got a sneak peek of The Addams Family 2 movie and absolutely fell in love with the film. I laughed, danced and enjoyed every bit of it. I’ll share my overall thoughts of this movie review and if it’s safe for young kids to see.

The second addition of this animated movie from the 2019 film is just as enjoyable and well-made, with its wit still intact. It’s safe to say you won’t be disappointed with your favorite characters including Gomez (who stars alongside Morticia), Uncle Fester who always manages to have some surprises up his sleeve, Wednesday Addams (our protagonist) and even Pugsley gets in on an act here too! You’ll love seeing how their lives unfold through all sorts of crazy antics and macabre mayhem on their family vacation.

Rude Humor
I mean would it even be The Addams Family without their rude humor to each other throughout the film? You know the typical Wednesday trying to find a way to get rid of her brother, Pugsley such as trying to shove him in an oven.
Sorry for the spoiler but I will say there was one disturbing scene of her placing a pillow over his face till he passes out. I was really hoping for kids film rather than being rated PG and thought that scene at the least could of been left out. Other than that the rest of the rude humor may be tolerable to some and be able to laugh from it.

Great Cast
Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, Nick Kroll, Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton, Wallace Shawn, with Snoop Dogg as ‘IT’, with Bette Midler and Bill Hader. Need I say more?
When this sequel came out nobody expected much but after seeing how funny some scenes were like Cousin It aka Snoop Dogg’s solo scene where he travels by private jet and puts on his own concert with his original song, I have found myself rooting even harder for the film as I feel he stole the show.

Of course, it’s exciting to see Morticia and Gomez again as well and see their love for each other is still the same.
Overall Review
I really enjoyed this movie, the dark humor and the overall family. Would I take young kids to see it? Probably not. I’m sad that they took some scenes a little too far and not made it enjoyable for any age to see. I would suggest kids ages 9 and up to see it, just because there was that one disturbing scene and some others that may be disturbing to some.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY is unhappy to see you again and they are going on a family vacation! Follow along with their adventures in this hilarious film now playing in theaters and On Demand! Check out the official trailer and learn more about the movie below.
