We try to save on car repairs as much as possible by fixing it ourselves. My husband knows cars and has saved us a ton of money by fixing our cars at home. Since doing this we have to have devices that tell us what is wrong with our car when the service engine soon light is on and we can’t fix the problem. We have tried hooking devices up to a computer, taking it to an auto parts store and sometimes these are not always reliable.
We came across the Lemur Monitors: BlueDriver Bluetooth Professional OBDII Scan Tool for iPhone, iPad, and Android phones. BlueDriver is a Diagnostic Scan Tool which means it can find problems with vehicles that are 1996 and later.
First download the app for BlueDriver on your phone. Then, plug the OBDII port underneath the driver’s side dashboard. Open the Blue Driver app and follow the directions to scan the codes on your vehicle. Codes will appear with definitions when there is a problem with vehicle. Then, you can go to the Auto Parts store and buy the part that matches the code definition. After you fix your car, restart the car with the BlueDriver plugged in to make sure it has been fixed.
This device was easy to use and efficient than any other devices we have used. To get the code on my phone it took less than 2 minutes. By getting this device has saved us a bunch of money rather than taking it to a mechanic and paying for the labor, parts, and to have them look at it.
