Running Tips for Beginners
Believe it or not, running makes a great hobby. Not only is it a great way to exercise, help you lose weight, and stay fit, it is also a great stress reliever. It can certainly be tough to get started, but once you get going, and stick with it, you will find that your time running is actually peaceful. It’s also a great way to free your mind of everyday stresses.
Start slowly! This is not a race. Remember that you are just a beginner and that it takes time to build your endurance and strength. If you are brand new to running, start with a small walk. Walk half of a mile and then jog half of a mile. Repeat this process until you are able to build stamina for a continuous run. There are many apps available to tell you how far to walk or run and to also track your time and mileage. This is a great way to get motivated. If you previously were a runner, you can still ease back into it. The good news is that it should not take as long to get back to running, like you used to.
Goals are the goal
Set small goals for yourself. Make sure that they are realistic, or you will end up discouraged, and ready to give up. When you start your run, tell yourself that you want to go an extra half mile today. Or maybe you are trying to increase your time, so try to beat your last run by 15 seconds. As you achieve these goals, you should find that running is actually fun and leaves you feeling more energized.

Take care of yourself
