Review: Uncle Ernie's Pancake House Kalamazoo, MI

If you are heading to Kalamazoo, MI, I highly suggest stopping by Uncle Ernie’s Pancake House for a bite to eat. My husband and I recently visited Kalamazoo, MI for a weekend getaway. We heard that Uncle Ernie’s is #1 in Kalamazoo so we had to try it out for ourselves. Uncle Ernie’s is a cute restaurant locally owned and operated since 1959. About 2 1/2 years ago Ryan and Kelly Roemensky bought the location for a place that the  locals can come in for some homestyle cooking at reasonable prices. It is just 10-15 minutes from downtown Kalamazoo and about 5 minutes from the airport.

They offer so many choices from breakfast to lunch with weekly specials (not on the menu)that are changed each Monday. We decided to order breakfast since we were there so early in the morning. I ordered the sausage and cheese omelette with wheat toast and my husband ordered the Dutch Hash with wheat toast. Both of our meals were generous portions for the price and filled us up. The staff was friendly and gave us a warm neighborhood feel.  The staff would also walk around with coffee pots asking if we wanted a warm up which I thought was a cute saying.  Am I the only one who has never heard of that? 🙂 The restaurant is a nice sized location that is perfect for family gatherings to enjoy a nice meal without breaking the bank.
