You may remember me starting Nutrisystem back in July and trying it out for 3 months. Last update was that I lost 5 lbs with the Quick Start program that consisted of shakes and veggies. I have made it thru the 3 months of being on Nutrisystem and have lost a grand total of 14 lbs. My goal was 20 lbs but have found that it is taking me longer to lose the weight now that I am older. Sure if I was in my 20’s it would come off fast but I am not at that age anymore.
I did have a few struggles in the beginning where I would do great one week and then bad the next. I thought I will never get this weight off and felt like a failure. In order to be healthy and be around for my kids and family I had to do it. After a month of getting used the program I was on track, pumped, and ready to lose the weight. I stuck with the program and ended up joining my local YMCA. I joined to help me get out of the house and get moving. I really enjoy the Zumba classes and don’t find it as exercise, I find it fun.
The program itself was easy to do once you got the hang of it. I am sure everyone will have some sort of struggle in the beginning but you have to keep telling yourself that you can do and then finally you do it. I have realized that I need to be patient and the weight will eventually come off even if it takes months to do. I am still setting my goal at 20 lbs. total to lose and will continue with my healthy eating and exercise.
The overall impression of the food for the Nutrisystem program is okay. I am a picky eater so I only found several items that I liked and choose the same foods for the 3 months. My favorite was the Zesty Herb Snack that was a chex mix with a spicy kick to it. My other favorite foods were the Flatbread Pizza and the Fudge Peanut Butter Graham Bar.
Overall the program was easy to follow and with the foods already in front of you makes it easier to reach for the Nutrisystem food rather than junk food. Preparation of the food was easy to follow by cooking it in a microwave and took no time at all. Once you find the foods you like from the program the rest is just sticking with the program. I will say that I found it easier to lose weight by combining exercise into the program unless you don’t mind losing it very slowly such as a few pounds a month.
