Hearing the numbers for INCREDIBLES 2 making $182.6 million domestically this past weekend makes it the perfect time to share my interview with Violet & Dash Parr voiced by Sarah Vowell & Huck Milner.

Is she having adolescence? – Dash to Violet

These 2 mesh well together as they are funny and act like siblings on and off screen. During the interview we talked about working with Brad Bird, what superhero power they would choose and more.

Interview with Violet & Dash Parr Voiced by Sarah Vowell & Huck Milner

Working with Brad Bird

This is the first time that Huck has voiced Dash along with being in an animated film and said that Brad make it really fun to work on the movie. While this is the second time around for Sarah she talks about how she trusts Brad because he is entertaining and and an exceptional voice actor himself.

And if you don’t know by now, Brad does the voice of Edna Mode but can also do good impressions of the other characters from Incredibles 2.

Real Life Superhero Power

We asked both of them if they could choose a real-life superhero power what would it be. Huck said that he would like to be super fast like Dash because he is not fast in real life and would like to beat his cousins and sisters at any game.

Sarah said that she would like super-strength power and be able to open a jar without having to use the rubber things to open it. I totally agree with Sarah and would love that super strength power myself.

What Violet Represents

“Becoming invisible is sort of like that teenage girl thing where you just wanna like, you know, hide. And then also her force fields don’t want to let you in. But then as she develops her powers and becomes her person she not only learns how to use the powers but enjoys using the powers, then they become her
strengths. And then those powers really reflect what she can do and not what she’s afraid of.” – Sarah Vowell

First Look at Character Products

Being that this is Huck’s first animated film we asked him if he’s seen the any of the Dash toys or has any. He mentioned that he owned the first movie prior to working on Incredibles 2 and now owns a talking Dash doll. And how many times has he pulled that string to hear his voice? – About 100 times!

Sarah also mentions that it has been a while since the first film, but when you become one of these
characters, you are that character until you die.

Favorite Character Superhero Moment

Being that this movie is about superheroes we wanted to know what was their favorite, most proud scene of their characters’ superhero moment.

“In the first movie there was that moment in the cave on the island when they need to go save Bob. Elastigirl,Violet and Dash were in the cave and Violet is like I don’t know if I can do this, and her mother says you’ve gotta step up. And she decides, okay, I’m gonna try. And she goes out of the cave, stands up, does the superhero pose and puts her mask on.” – Sarah Vowell

“My favorite part with my character in the new movie – not really a superhero part. I just liked it when he was pressing buttons and crushing a couch inside of a water feeder.” – Huck Milner

Check out my review of the movie and take the entire family to see Incredibles 2 in theaters on June 15th!

ABOUT THE MOVIE

Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
