If you are not watching the new game show “The Chase” Thursday nights (9:00-10:00 p.m. EST) on ABC, you’re missing out! It’s an intense quiz show that gets your heart racing where three competitors must pit their wits and face off against the Chaser. The Twist? Facing off against “Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time”’s James Holzhauer, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter. Will anybody be able to take down these trivia guru’s? Tune in to find out but how about some fun facts about the new show and host Sara Haines.

Today I had the chance to speak with “The Chase” game show host, Sara Haines and get the details about the new quiz show and a little background about herself.

Fun Facts About New Quiz Show “The Chase”

  • The game first originated in the UK in 2009 and then came to the US in 2013 but cut short pre-Jeopardy GOATs. ABC is trying it again with Jeopardy’s alumni contestants.
  • The questions must be read as written and no ad libbing.
  • If a question is misread, the show must be stopped, reviewed and time will be set back to where it was so no time was lost for the contestants.
  • Questions must be asked with speed to keep contestants in a rhythm to answer fast.

Fun Facts About Sara Haines

  • Sara also co-host of ABC’s daytime talk show, “The View,” where she returned to the panel for season 24 having been a co-host in 2016-2018 for seasons 20-21.
  • Most recently, Haines co-hosted ABC News’ “GMA 3: Strahan, Sara & Keke.”
  • In 2008, she began online reporting as host of the program’s entertainment video blog “Backstage Pass” interviewing countless celebrity entertainers, actors and musicians.
  • She’s learned a lot from the trivia questions on the show.
  • Ken, James and Brad described in one word: warm, sweet brat and chill. 
  • The Jeopardy guru’s are like her own personal Google. Whenever she has a question she just asks them.
  • She admits she would not be a good contestant as she is not so good at answering trivia questions.
  • Currently resides in New Jersey with her husband, Max, and three young children, Alec, Sandra and Caleb.

“The Chase” airs THURSDAYS (9:00-10:00 p.m. EST) on ABC. Episodes can also be viewed the next day on demand and on Hulu.
