4 Disney+ Movies and Shows to Start With
Lady and The Tramp
In Disney+’s “Lady and the Tramp,” a timeless re-telling of the 1955 animated classic, a pampered house dog and a tough but lovable stray embark on an unexpected adventure and, despite their differences, grow closer and come to understand the value of home.
My Thoughts on Lady and The Tramp
When I heard this was going to be a live action remake I had my doubts about it but Disney totally changed my opinion. In fact, I actually loved it. Watching the film made me think of my dog the entire time and how much I love and appreciate him. Even though Aunt Sarah played by Yvette Nicole Brown and The Dog Catcher played by Adrian Martinez seems like they were villains Yvette Nicole Brown said that her character had a little heart that you will see in the film.
Will there be tears when you watch it? Most definitely! I cried several times throughout the film because I have a love for dogs now that I have one of my own. Adrian Martinez says that the ending where the family says the dog has a home really hit his heart. Mine too, Adrian!
Noelle
In Disney+’s holiday comedy “Noelle,” Kris Kringle’s daughter is full of Christmas spirit and holiday fun, but wishes she could do something “important” like her beloved brother Nick, who will take over for their father this Christmas. When Nick is about to crumble like a gingerbread cookie from all the pressure, Noelle suggests he take a break and get away…but when he doesn’t return, Noelle must find her brother and bring him back in time to save Christmas.
My Thoughts on Noelle
So this one I thought oh no another Christmas movie and wasn’t expecting it to be. But I was wrong again. It was so good. Bill and Anna together made it exceptionally funny. And this movie has a little twist to it and rather different compared to other Christmas movies.
And if you look throughout the film you will find a bunch of hidden Mickey’s which makes it fun. My favorite line the say often in the movie is “Thank Garland”. There is plenty more pun humor and ad lib throughout the film that will have you rolling says Noelle producer Suzanne Todd. This is a great movie the whole family can watch but to warn you that there are some parts they kids may question about Santa when they are at the mall and they take off the beard.
High School Musical The Musical The Series
The 10-episode scripted series, set at the real-life East High, where the original movie was filmed, follows a group of students as they countdown to opening night of their school’s first-ever production of “High School Musical.” With meta references and some docu-style elements, it’s a modern take on the “classic” from 13 years ago. Show-mances blossom; friendships are tested, while new ones are made; rivalries flare; songs are sung; and lives are changed forever as these young people discover the transformative power that only high school theater can provide. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” follows East High juniors Ricky and Nini, who just returned from summer camp with a new-found voice, confidence and ambitious boyfriend, E.J. With the help of his best friend, Ricky launches a plan to win back the heart of his ex-girlfriend Nini by auditioning to stage opposite her in the school’s first-ever theatrical production of “High School Musical.”
My Thoughts on High School Musical The Musical The Series
If the title was ridiculous enough the series just as is too. Meaning that they are poking fun at High School Musical while recreating it and it’s insanely funny. All the talent playing the characters are perfect for each role. The facial expressions, sayings, and more were down right hilarious. I can’t wait to watch the rest of this series with my kids.
Marvel’s Hero Project
The series, produced by Marvel New Media in partnership with MaggieVision Productions, reveals the remarkable, positive change several young heroes are making in their own communities. These young heroes have dedicated their lives to selfless acts of bravery and kindness, and now, Marvel celebrates them as the true Super Heroes they are.
My Thoughts on Marvel’s Hero Project
Grab all the tissues you can find cause this series will have you in tears. I absolutely loved hearing the stories of other superhero kids. The show was created by Marvel’s Hero Project producer’s son, Jude. They were walking down the street on their way to see “Spiderman Homecoming” when his son told him this whole story about how every kid is a superhero. The producer took his son’s story and pitched Disney which turned into Marvel’s Hero Project. You can even see his son Jude in the opening credits as he is the first kid.
They take extraordinary kids doing extraordinary things and documented their life showing how they are a superhero to others. This series is really inspiring for kids and adults to see. And the best part is that they take these kids stories and turn them into a comic book. The first episode is with a kid named Adonis who is blind but plays football and is really good at it. He hopes to one day play in the NFL and I think he will get there. Marvel ended up making the first braille comic book ever and presented it to Adonis. After the episodes are finished the comic books will be available online for free to read at marvel.com/heroproject.
