Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruz Smart Money Smart Kids Book Review

smart money smart kids

If you are a fan of Dave Ramsey, he has a new book coming out with his daughter Rachel Cruz called Smart Money Smart Kids tomorrow, April 22nd. It’s a book that teaches kids about money from Dave and Rachel’s point of view. They each share their stories and give tips on how to teach your kids to be smarter with their money.

I got the chance to review the book Smart Money Smart Kids early and read it. With Rachel growing up with her dad Dave Ramsey she learned a lot about money and how to manage it living in the Ramsey household. Together they wanted to write a book helping parents teach kids the basics like working, spending, saving, and giving. And also moving into more challenging issues like avoiding debt for life, paying cash for college, and battling discontentment. This book is easy for anyone to understand.

After reading it, things starting clicking in my head on ways to get my kids to start a checkbook at age 14 so they can learn how to balance it and write checks, and save money. And another part I liked in the book is where they talk about giving kids a commission not an allowance. This gets kids excited to clean up knowing they can make a commission off of the chores they do.  Plus, there are so many other ways I want to get my kids involved in saving their money for their future now.
