The words “Back to School” can give any mom anxiety with thoughts of homework, early mornings, endless paperwork, school supplies and the list goes on and on. Trust me I feel all of you and I’m dreading that summer is almost over and the fun will be over and it’s back to reality, but we all have to deal with it the best we can.

That is why I created this mom’s back to school survival guide since we are all in this together. Hopefully these tips will help you get through the beginning making it a smooth new school year. You got this! I have faith in all of you!

Mom’s Back to School Survival Guide

Easy Dinner Ideas

We all say we will have time, but let’s face it, we never do after school. There is so much craziness of running the kids everywhere, getting homework done, etc. Dinner does not have to be hard. Make it simple and your life will be more happy and less stressful. When you’re in a pinch, try Fast Fixin’ Restaurant Style® Country Fried Steaks found at Sam’s Club. They are perfect for busy nights as they are fully cooked and ready to heat and eat. Top it with the included pouch of delicious, creamy country gravy and dinner is on the table in no time.

You may have remembered this product in a box, but it has now moved to a bag with the same great taste and microwaves in minutes. And the price is right to fit any budget with $3 cash back when you use the Ibotta app while supplies last. Each bag includes 10, delicious 4 oz steaks, plus 2 Country Gravy Mix packets! Fast Fixin’ Restaurant Style® Country Fried Steaks gives you the best for less!

Plan It Out

Dust off that planner and start using it right now before the chaos begins! Now is the time to plan out as far ahead as you can from school activities, days off school, vacations, sports, etc. If you need extra help in remembering add it to your calendar and get reminders on your phone so you don’t forget.

Purge Unwanted Items

This is the time to do it when everyone has time to chip in and purge items from closets and dresser drawers. Find out what doesn’t fit anymore and either sell or donate those items. This will save the hassle of when school begins and you’re rummaging through tons of clothes that don’t fit or they don’t want anymore. Also, be sure to go through shoes, and jackets. Doing this will also give you an idea of what they need for the new school year.

Create a Back to School Station

Find space in your house where you can create a back to school station. I did this last year and it has been a huge lifesaver. Use this space to hang up backpacks, jackets and earbuds along with a section for shoes. When you do this, it makes it so much easier to find everything so you are not rushing around trying to find everything. We also have a special drawer in our hutch on our main floor that will have deodorant, hair brush, dental floss, etc. in case we forget, are in a rush or don’t have time to run back upstairs.

Make a Routine

Once school begins, make a routine that everyone needs to follow. That includes you MOM! I’m talking have homework done by a certain time, limit screen time, and make sure everyone goes to bed at a decent hour. And if you want to save time, make it a habit to pick out outfits, pack lunches and shower at night.
