halloween-food-guide-at-disneyland

My kids and I recently visited Disneyland, it was the first time for the kids and 5th time for me. We made it a mission to test out as much Halloween food as possible so we can share what we liked best. We visited one park a day so we had plenty of time to try the food and enjoy each park. I have to say that everything we tried we liked and didn’t come across anything we didn’t like. This is what we tried and our thoughts on each food item.

Halloween Food at Disneyland Park

churro-sundae-at-disneyland

Churro Sundae
(Location: Golden Horseshoe)
Cookie dough ice cream garnished with a churro, cajeta and whipped cream.
Our thought: churros dipped in ice cream was heaven.

coco-churro

Coco Churro
(Location: food cart by Big Thunder Mountain Railroad)
Cinnamon-dusted with a spicy cocoa dipping sauce.
Our thought: while it came with cocoa dipping sauce we thought the churro had plenty of cocoa flavor and didn’t need the dipping sauce.

Halloween Food at California Adventure

candy-corn-macaron

Spoke-y Cone Macaron
(Location: Cars Land Cozy Cone Motel)
Cone Macaron filled with marshmallow buttercream and candy corn.
Our thought: we’re not a fan of macarons normally but this one was the bomb. The candy cone inside the marshmallow made it delicious.

slo-burnin-mac-n-cheese

Slow-Burnin’ Mac ‘N’ Cheese Cone
(Location: Cars Land Cozy Cone Motel)
Pasta with spicy red pepper-cheese sauce topped with crushed chile-cheese puffs served in a bread cone.
Our thought: you should try this one, it is seriously good and lasted about 7.5 seconds.

halloween-churro

Haul-O-Ween Churro
(Location: Cars Land Cozy Cone Motel)
Rolled in chocolate with cream-filled cookies, green icing, gummy worms and candy.
Our thought: the mix of the chocolate and cream-filled cookies was like eating an oreo churro. The icing, gummy worms and candy are more for the Halloween presentation and suggest eating it separately.

smores-churro-1

S’mores Churro
(Location: food cart by Redwood Creek Challenge Trail)
Rolled in graham cracker crumbs topped with chocolate chips and a marshmallow drizzle.
Out thought: tasted like a s’mores cookie.

halloween-corn-dog

Spicy Pepper Jack Cheese Stick
(Location: The Corn Dog Castle by Coco in California Adventure)
Batter-dipped and drizzled with blackberry sauce topped with sweet pineapple salsa, pickled serranos and crushed cheese puffs.
Our thought: this was spicy but the pineapple salsa seemed to tame it a bit and the crushed cheese puffs were an added bonus. Yum!

These are just a few of the foods we tried at each park. There are plenty more to try so be sure to get to the parks by October 31, 2019 before they’re all gone till next year.

It’s already Halloween at Walt Disney World. While the parks and resorts do not roll out the festive decor as they do during the Christmas Season, there is plenty of pumpkin spice fun at the Magic Kingdom from now up until November 1. When you visit Walt Disney World in the fall, there are always two significant events to attend. At Epcot, there is the Food and Wine Festival, who’s opening happens to coincide with the grand opening of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge this year. In the Magic Kingdom, a pumpkin lined Main Street USA indicates an exciting Disney World Halloween party that takes place after hours on select nights for the next three months. Thank you Disney World for hosting!

Dates and Ticket Prices

Ticket Prices vary by date. Certain nights are less expensive and have fewer crowds. The broad strokes of it are that the dates closer to Halloween are more expensive. Also, the weekend dates are pricier than the weekdays. The cheaper the ticket, the lower the expected turnout. While there are some dates sprinkled in among the consistently scheduled days, the main days selected are Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday in September. October adds Thursday among it’s regularly scheduled Disney World Halloween parties. Tickets start as low as $79 and increase to $135. Children’s tickets are always $5 less. non-borax-glitter-halloween-slime

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year from the fall weather, candy, costumes, and parties. If you’re thinking of something different to pass out other than candy try this non-borax glitter Halloween slime. It’s safe for kids and can be packaged nicely in these plastic slime containers to be easily handed out. Or kids can even pass them out at a school Halloween party.

orange-and-black-halloween-slime

This recipe does not require borax as some slime recipes do. If you prefer to use borax, you can mix 1 tbsp borax powder and 1 cup of warm water together. Stir until the borax is completely dissolved. Then, in a separate bowl, mix 1/2 cup of glue and 1/2 cup of water.  Stir until the mixture is well combined (the mixture will be watery) and then add a few drops of color until you get the color you want. The non-borax recipe is below.

Tonight on Halloween we watched the new thriller movie “Kidnap”. It’s been on my list of movies to watch and we threw a little Halloween party and watched the movie from the Movies Anywhere app to our TV. We had popcorn, theater candy and more. This thriller movie definitely kept us on our feet the entire time. Just to let you know it is not suitable for young kids, I would say teenagers is a good age to watch it.
