As a parent we tend to worry about our kids, home, health, career, etc. My husband always tells me that I need to worry less and enjoy life. While I do feel some things are important to worry about, I also felt like he was right and I need to worry less about the small stuff. I came across this book called “Worry Less So You Can Live More: Surprising, Simple Ways to Feel More Peace, Joy, and Energy” by Jane Rubietta and was excited to read it and find out how to worry less.
Exchange Your Worries for Delight in God . . . and God’s Delight in You
Weary of worry and its tagalongs: anxiety, discouragement, and exhaustion? Jane Rubietta invites you to leave behind your heavy heart and learn to truly live again. To experience joy and rest in the moment-by-moment pleasure of a God who delights in you–and has all your tomorrows under his control. Jane’s picturesque prose offers enduring encouragement and practical tools for change. Discussion questions and journaling prompts make this the perfect book to read on your own or share with your small group and discover how to worry less and live more.
When I received the book, not only did the title stand out but the cover of the book did too. The book looked like an easy read with just 208 pages. I quickly dove into the book to read so I could learn more. As I kept reading chapter after chapter, I did not find anything about worrying or even steps on how to worry less. It was more or less stories about the writer and how she felt guilty buying something, etc. And at the end of each chapter was a poem or such. I was disappointed that I did not learn how to worry less from this books.
If you plan on reading this book be sure to know that it is not a self-help book. It is stories about the writer and nothing to do with worrying like the title says.
