Hosting Tips for the Calorie-Conscious Guests

I love hosting parties at my house and it’s getting to be that time of year where we spend more time outdoors with cookouts, drinks, and more. Now that bathing suit season is around the corner guests may be more calorie-conscious than usual but that doesn’t mean having the right foods for the party can be difficult. To easily cater to our guests with the right food choices I came up with some hosting tips to help you with your next calorie-conscious party.

Low-Calorie Appetizers

Everyone loves to start off a party with some appetizers. Try some low-calorie options such as pita bread and humus, veggies and dip made with Greek yogurt, fruit kabobs. Or you can start off with a hearty vegetable soup as it is filling and delicious.

Fruity Drinks

Instead of serving soda, try a fruity drink. One of my favorites is filling a gallon container with water and slicing up some fruit in it for fruit infused water. Or if you plan to have alcohol at your party you can opt in for some low-calorie cocktails by mixing alcohol and fresh fruit together.

Calorie-Conscious Main Dish

You can maximize the calories by fixing a vegetarian dish for the main course. Think casseroles, steamed veggies and rice, tofu, and more. Or if you don’t want to fix a meatless dish there are other alternatives to fix under 300 calories a serving from fish to chicken. One of my favorite low-calorie meals is Skinny Garlic Chicken. It is easy to prepare and only requires 5 ingredients. Plus, if you make it in a pressure cooker it takes no time at all. And it is so good!

Dessert are often expected to be on the table when guests arrive but sometimes we don’t have the time to bake all day.
