Add this DIY dollar store patriotic wreath to your front door just in time for the 4th of July. The total cost was $5 to make the wreath with supplies from the dollar store and took about 15 minutes. I love how easy it was to customize it without breaking the bank. And don’t forget about Memorial Day as this will make a great decoration for the holiday and honor those that served.
Dollar Store Patriotic Wreath
- Foam craft ring
- Roll of red mesh
- Roll of blue mesh
- Patriotic bow
- Patriotic sign
- Glue gun
- Glue sticks
- Wrap the blue mesh around 75% of the foam craft ring and glue the ends down with the hot glue gun. I use the tip of the glue gun to hold it down after I glue it so I don’t burn my fingers.
- Wrap the remaining 25% of the ring with the red mesh and glue down the ends.
- Add the patriotic bow at the bottom of the ring by securing it with the twist tie that is attached to the bow. Or you can glue it to the ring.
- Add the patriotic sign to the top of the ring and secure it with the glue gun.
The patriotic sign I choose had a metal hook at the top as you can see in the picture so I didn’t need to add a string for hanging. If your sign does not have a hook you can tie a piece of string around the ring to hang it. You can also use a pool noodle for the ring if you have one lying around that you no longer need. All you have to do is bend the ends in a circle and tape them together where they meet. Then, you can decorate your wreath.
Feel free to get creative with your wreath as the dollar store has plenty of patriotic items to choose from this time of year.
