I can still remember watching the movie Adventures in Babysitting in the 80’s with my family. It was a teen comedy that I will never forget. In fact, I own the DVD to this day and have watched it with my kids. I am so excited to announce that Disney is remaking my favorite childhood movie “Adventures in Babysitting” and will air on the Disney Channel on June 24th at 8PM EST. And this will be Disney Channel’s 100th Original Movie!

While I was in LA I got the chance to screen the movie and interview the stars, Sofia Carson and Sabrina Carpenter. While I can’t share any information with you yet, I promise to update you on it in June before it airs. In the meantime you can check out information about it below and a sneak peek of my favorite part – the “Rap Battle” scene.

“Adventures in Babysitting,” inspired by the hugely popular 1980s film of the same name, is an upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie starring Sabrina Carpenter (of Disney Channel’s hit comedy series “Girl Meets World”) and Sofia Carson (of the hit Disney Channel Original Movie “Descendants”). In “Adventures in Babysitting,” a dull evening for two competing babysitters, Jenny (Sabrina Carpenter) and Lola (Sofia Carson), turns into an adventure in the big city as they hunt for one of the kids who somehow snuck away. The Disney Channel Original Movie will premiere summer 2016. (Disney Channel/Ed Araquel)

“Adventures in Babysitting” is directed by John Schultz (“Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer,” “Like Mike”) and written by Tiffany Paulsen (“Nancy Drew”). The movie is executive-produced by Michelle Manning (“Teen Beach 2,” “The Breakfast Club”) and Chuck Minsky serves as director of photography (“The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement,” “Mother’s Day,” “Valentine’s Day,” “New Year’s Eve”).

I know my kids are excited to see the movie this summer. Be sure to mark it on your calendars for the airing of Disney’s “Adventures in Babysitting” on June 24th.
