Día de los Muertos History and Significance Día de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday beginning on November 1st and ending on November 2nd. While people assume it’s just a Mexican Halloween, it’s actually a grand family reunion to honor the loved ones that have deceased and goes as far back to pre-colonial history and is a tradition that has come from their ancestors. During the holiday you will find costumes, food, bright colors, altars, candles, and pictures. Mexicans take time to visit the graves of their deceased loved ones to decorate and spend time there. This celebration holds great meaning…

The long anticipated wait is almost over as COCO is set to release in theaters on November 22. It’s a story about the Land of the Dead is not as dark as you think it would be. This story is much different as it is about family, music and magic. I got to see 35 minutes of it earlier this month and love every minute of it. I cannot wait to see the entire movie in just a few short months. While I was visiting in San Francisco, we had the chance to sit down with COCO Director Lee Unkrich,…

Art is fascinating in so many ways. It can teach us to express ourselves when creating or can make you think and feel when looking at it. I love all kinds of art but was exceptionally excited to visit the “Deja View: The Art of Andreas Deja” Exhibit At Walt Disney Family Museum when I was in San Francisco earlier this month. Andreas Deja is known for his work at Disney Animation Studios working on films such as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Jafar in Aladdin, Scar in The Lion King and the hero in Hercules. Through October 9,…

With Disney·Pixar’s Coco movie coming to theaters, November 22, it only made sense to make a fun inspired craft. My son was determined to make slime the other day so I was on a mission to find Coco inspired craft items to put in the slime. While I had to go to several stores, I finally found these sugar skulls and flower confetti pieces at Joann Fabrics along with the other supplies on the list. There are many different slime recipes but this one is easy and I like it the most. Have fun with it and be creative! Warning:…

Summer may be over but there is still time on the weekends to curl up on the couch and binge watch Disney movies all day. We tend to do this on our lazy Sundays. This month of August there are 3 new Disney movies coming to Blu-ray and DVD to a store near you. They are Descendants 2, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and The Lion King. All of which are my favorites. I was really excited to get The Lion King as I have not seen it in a while and my daughter and I are planning…

D23 took place at the Anaheim Convention Center July 14-16 and in case you don’t know what it is, it’s like a Comic-Con but all Disney. And yes people do dress up as their favorite Disney characters too! D23 is where Disney makes lots of announcements for upcoming movies, attractions, park updates, and more. It’s one of my favorite times of the year and always have my eyes glued to the computer, hitting refresh a million times to find out what the announcements are. If you’re a Disney fan like me then you know what I’m talking about. Check out…

Pandora – The World of Avatar located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a world of its own and unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. Once you step inside and visit you’ll have to stop yourself for a bit and say this is not real because it really does feel real. I got the chance to experience this world a few weeks ago and these are the Things you Don’t Want to Miss at Disney’s Pandora – The World of Avatar. Scenery The colors are vibrant and it looks like the scenery came off of the Avatar movie set. Disney really…

LOU is a new Pixar short film you will be able to see playing before Cars 3. It is a heartwarming story that can really teach a lesson to everyone of all ages. I get excited to see short films now because they have all been so great. Most of the time I want them to continue on to be a full story but maybe someday they will go back and make short films into a movie. How great would that be? About LOU LOU  is about a red hoodie-covered creature with eyes made of baseballs and buttons hanging out…
