The 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace was a head turner when it was finally revealed at #NAIAS in Detroit this past weekend. You may think of the Beetle or Bus when it comes to Volkswagen but this was just the opposite. It is a three-row, seven-seat version of its second-generation Tiguan compact SUV and will be available for sale this year. Every little detail has been thought of in this new vehicle that I know you will all love. This information is sponsored by SheBuysCars.com. All opinions are my own.
5 Amazing Features on the New 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace
More Interior Space.
The new 2018 model has 57% more cargo capacity coming in at 185.2 inches long. You will now find that it has 3 rows and seven seats which is plenty of room for the entire family to fit in. Space in the third row can be increased by sliding the second row forward manually. The wheelbase is also 4.4 inches longer to make the overall performance better and a smoother ride.
Sharper Exterior Design.
The exterior is sharper than the previous model with strong character lines and LED lighting along the trimmings. Hands-free liftgate makes loading the cargo easier with the foot-activated feature. Just stick your foot under the liftgate and watch it open automatically. A new palate of exterior colors are available this year from solid colors to metallic paints and more.
Volkswagen’s increased the power of the 2.0-liter turbocharged and direct injection TSI® engine by making it 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. At an eight-speed automatic transmission the all-wheel-drive offers four different modes to give drivers a better grip on and off pavement.
New Safety Features.
A rearview camera is standard of course but you can add Adaptive Cruise Control for use in stop and go traffic. My favorite feature is the Lane Departure Warning which will beep if you go outside the lane while driving. Additional features included Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert.
For the Techies.
If you love new technology you will love the new tech feature on the new Tiguan. It features a Digital Cockpit, Car-Net and App-Connect services including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink phone technologies and a booming Fender Premium Audio system.
Why Steel Matters
With an increase of cars over the years safety has become more important in vehicles by companies to keep you safe on the roads. More and more companies are building cars with steel to continue to do so and keep you safe while driving. About 3 years ago, Volkswagen has changed the bodies of the car from Aluminum to steel making the vehicle up to 100 lbs. lighter while saving you money on gas. They use a high-strength steel which is six times stronger than regular steel. Last year the Tiguan was voted Most Innovative Brand of 2016 and the Best Design Brand of the year and I have a feeling it will repeat itself with the new model.
